Christmas seems to star earlier each year. But not in my home .
My first child was born on 17th November.
He is the only one in our family of four that doesn’t have a birthday in the middle of the year. I used to feel a bit sorry for him having all the fun at one end of the year and a long wait until next time. But, then I realised this meant all the new idea and products are in the stores or him to choose his gifts from. Always best to look at the positives.
Our tradition starts with not mentioning Christmas before his birthday ( fingers crossed he doesn’t read this blog post lol) No gifts can be bought and no decorations organised. It was then decided that our Christmas organisation would start on the 1st December . This way my son can have his cards up on display and gives time for any party celebrations.
2 sleeps until we celebrate my son’s birthday ( he’ll be 24 years old) and 16 sleeps until we start Christmas organisation . Looking forward to sharing both here .
What Christmas traditions are yours?

I LOVE Christmas but it winds me up a bit that everything starts so early. My neighbours have already decorated the outside of their house. What The!! We’re only halfway through November!! I like to stick with tradition and kick off the countdown in DECEMBER. Keep things magical and worth the wait. That’s why it’s special 🙂

I agree , if you start to early it loses the specialness. I’m not sure specialness is a real word but I make up a lot of new ones haha. i will always be a start in December girl. Growing up that’s when we did it too ( and there were no birthday to cause it then).

We too have November and Dec Birthdays – which is fine except the gift thing – you have to come up with 2 gifts in quick succession…ugh!

Yes I found that became harder as he grew older and toys no longer cut it. With the middle birthdays u can balance out the clothes and accessories by season for gifts

Happy birthday to your son. Our oldest granddaughter had her birthday this week, also. It is their tradition to get out the Christmas tree and start decorating it the the day following it.

It must be hard for those with birthdays even closer to Christmas.

The Tween’s birthday is the 27th. I also have Granddaughter #1 on the 23rd and her Mummy (the firstborn) on December 8th. Then I have my mother on December 19th. lol
Got to love this time of year.

My son is November too and we have the same rule in our house. Christmas does not start until his birthday is over. Enjoy all your celebrations xxx
