14 days coke free

Today marks 14 days Coca Cola free. No more headaches thankfully. I now find 2 level teaspoons of sugar in my coffee tastes very sweet. That’s got to be a good sign. The addiction is still there as I found out and although I struggled on Sunday I pushed past the craving. Had a really busy weekend with school work so when I finally stopped late Sunday night I wanted nothing more than an ice old Coke. There was Brian washing down salt and vinegar peanuts with..you guessed it…coke! That man is testing my strength for sure haha.
We don’t own weight scales so I can’t tell if I’ve lost weight from my reduced sugar intake but I can say a zipped skirt I own now zips up with ease and has a looser waist band.

I’m slowly beginning to enjoy ice cold water. It is refreshing, something I never really appreciated before. And, it frosts on the glass just as coke does…just lacks that melodic fizzzzz sound .

So what else has been happening…life isn’t all giving up coke.

I’ve been busy trying to keep the hyperactive Sheldon from running around. Easy for the vet to say keep him quiet for 10 days. He is champing at the bit to escape and run madly ( as I am for him to get out hahaha) We have lasted 6 post op days so I’m hoping that’s all good. We released him from the Elizabethan collar last night for a while. Distracted at play with Tim or myself h was fine but once left alone he began nibbling at the stitches a bit. No way did I want to reacquaint with the after hours vet…as pleasant as she is of course …with broken stitches so I put the collar back on before he went to sleep for the night. I felt so bad watching is large brown sad eyes as I locked it into place.rewarded him with schmacko treat so he didn’t see it a a punishment, ugh have to go through that again soon tonight.

As if school , home AND coke free isn’t big enough I’m doing an online education course for work on Autistic Spectrum Disorder . There’s quite a lot of readings to get through, quizzes and compulsory forums. You can interact with others in the forum but is nowhere near as much fun as Facebook interactions 🙂

Time to manipulate the collar back on Sheldon. It’s getting easier and I have the YouTube link at hand for emergencies haha. I must admit it stops him getting into some nooks and crannies. If he gets used to it maybe he’d like to where it permanently… Can only wish hahaha
