Covid travel from the armchair-Canada and USA 2020

Today we should have been traveling to Rydges Sydney Airport hotel to spend the night. It wasn’t because we were to be in quarantine rather in preparation for a morning flight to Canada for a near 4 week holiday in Canada and USA.

I would have filled this post with stories of train folk, watching planes from my window, going outside to smell the aviation fuel and eating tasty food. Lunch at Smithy’s, always sitting at ‘our table’, dinner at Ascot and then a drink at Cloud 9. I’d watch the final flight of the day, a few more freight planes then settle in for some sleep, dreaming (nightmares) of the next day- do I have my passport, is my ETA attached correctly to my passport, is my ESTA still current?

I would have attached photos like these.

I’d sit here using my binoculars and airport arrival and departure sheet
So many planes
Viewing the end of the day. Such a busy place.

Today however, the planes I will watch are the limited ones that might fly over my house or those on FlightRadar 24. The food will be handmade by me.

I might just check to see my passport is still in the place I keep it safely before I go to sleep tonight. 😊

I love eating great food but am becoming interested in cooking. Love traveling around this great country in which I live and worldwide more recently. Often found traveling with my husband Brian. I write for pleasure and if it's read (and enjoyed) by others then that's a bonus! 2014 saw me begin the 'new' me. Working hard at leaving the fear of 'what if' behind and replacing it with YOLO adventures. :)

  1. Very sad ☹️.

  2. Yes it’s a bit like that. Hopefully you will be able to make the trip soon. Bluntly I’d even like to be able to travel to Victoria, Australia!

I enjoy reading comments so don't forget to add one please :)
