A Thing of Beauty

A thing of beauty is a joy forever

      Its loveliness increases,

        It will never

     Pass into nothingness.

                John Keats

He surely wrote this with Hamilton Island in mind. I have seen the island in all seasons, each with its own beauty. The sky is a lighter blue in winter but temperatures hover mid 20C , the springtime breezes caress the palm fronds, afternoon  storms are more spectacular in summer and in autumn hardly any rain seems to fall  and the skies are crisp blue. But enough words , for this post is supposed to be a wordless . But I just couldn’t resist adding a few ‘brushstrokes ‘with ‘word paint’.

Make sure you click on the image to see the beauty in greater splendor.

A mum to 2 grown up children who always make me proud, a wife and a full time school teacher. I love eating great food but am not motivated to cook. Love traveling around this great country in which I live. Often found traveling with my husband Brian. I write for pleasure and if it's read (and enjoyed) by others then that's a bonus! 2014 saw me begin the 'new' me. Working hard at leaving the fear of 'what if' behind and replacing it with YOLO adventures. :)

  1. Oh,, that looks so beautiful, Hamilton Is will have to go on my bucket list I think.

  2. So long since I was there! (I think I was mid year 12? Taking a break before 5 years of uni I didn’t even know I would undertake!)
Beautiful pictures. Wish I could go again…

    • My first visit was in 1987 on my honeymoon as a day trip from Daydream Island where we were staying. They even had dolphins in the dolphin pool way back then. Perhaps it was such a beautiful time of memories for me , that I still love it so much.

  3. So lovely. I’ve never been there……… yet!

  4. I love Hamilton Island…we were there way back in 2004 when the kids were little. Would love to go back there one day.

  5. I have only been to Hamilton Island once. It was for a workshop where we discussed life post being a partner in a professional service firm. One of the important things I got from the weekend at this fabulous place was the inspiration for http://www.browney237.com.

It’s a wonderful place. Gorgeous beaches and whales we could almost touch!

  6. Indeed a beautiful Island, TM and very beautiful photos 🙂 Pawkiss 🙂

  7. What a beautiful place. I would love to visit Australia some day and this would have to be included! 🙂

    • The island is the perfect gateway to the Great Barrier Reef which is a spectacular living thing to explore. I hope you fulfill your dream to see Australia one day. ( I don’t think I’m biased about its beauty hahahs)
