Love and marriage

Weddings and anniversaries seems to be in the air. I’ve been enjoying  the photo memories a friend has been sharing her on Facebook and I’ve been reading a few blog posts of late celebrating wedding anniversaries …

and here

and I posted recently on the topic too…here

My sister in law is getting married soon too.I’m so excited for her as she works hard planning their special day.

I was married 26 years ago on 26th of September. I guess I could be called a romantic. I love a good wedding and marriage.

One of my favourite movies made from a book I had read was The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks. I never tire of watching the courtship life of Allie and Noah and the power of their love.  Here are a few of my favourite quotes.

The Notebook by Nicholas Cage

“Every great love starts with a great story…”

“So it’s not gonna be easy. It’s going to be really hard; we’re gonna have to work at this everyday, but I want to do that because I want you. I want all of you, forever, everyday. You and me… everyday.”

“It’s the possibility that keeps me going, not the guarantee.”

Do you have a favourite romantic movie? What is it ?

Author: Travelling Macs

A mum to 2 grown up children who always make me proud, a wife and a full time school teacher. I love eating great food but am not motivated to cook. Love traveling around this great country in which I live. Often found traveling with my husband Brian. I write for pleasure and if it's read (and enjoyed) by others then that's a bonus! 2014 saw me begin the 'new' me. Working hard at leaving the fear of 'what if' behind and replacing it with YOLO adventures. :)

  1. I’m a real fan of Notting Hill, the movie. I love all of Richard Curtis’ romances but this is my favourite, I love that its about people finding each other through the biggest odds. Plus its funny. Definitely one of my rainy Sunday afternoon movies.

‘After all… I’m just a girl, standing in front of a boy, asking him to love her.’

  2. I am a Love Actually fan, also all the 80’s/90’s romantic comedies: Dirty Dancing, When Harry Met Sally, Pretty Woman etc. I loved Notting Hill-Hugh Grant’s flat mate is hilarious…time for you to catch up…haha

    • When Harry met Sally..that’s one of my favourites too! While the most famous part would be ‘ I’ll have what she’s having’ I laugh most at how she orders food….that’s just how I order :))

  3. We’re coming up for our 17th anniversary. (Still waiting for the gold band to go with the sapphire I wear though) lol

  4. Funny, because the post before yours on IBOT was about a wedding! Must be in the air 🙂

I enjoy reading comments so don't forget to add one please :)
