All about 100 – a journey of a kind

As a school teacher I seem to accumulate a lot of facts (and songs ). They can act as amazing ‘party tricks’ to stimulate children to interact and get their brains thinking and of course find enjoyment in learning. I have spent few minutes recalling facts I know about 100. I’ve included a few (not 100 so feel free to add some more in the comments to get the tally up…please)

100 is the sum of the first 10 odd numbers.

100 is a perfect square.

100 can be expressed as the sum of two prime numbers in six different ways:

Sleeping beauty slept for 100 years.

Apparently cats can make 100 different sounds.

Why the interest in the number 100 – Well – TODAY I POST MY 100TH BLOG POST!!

(Yes I used capital letters because I AM yelling-I’m shouting to whoever will listen!!)

Reading so many blogs I’m  aware this milestone is a little late in the coming , but…

This seedling will one day become a beautiful tree if I take the time and apply the effort to nurture it properly.

I’ve been blogging for about 14 months so that rate is only approximately 2 posts on average a week. But as I missed a few months after starting, so the post rate now is higher. At first my blog was a travel diary, a little humour and at times exaggeration, entwined with travel tales. Then, as I began to enjoy the opportunity to express my thoughts and activities here, the content became more a ramble, but still the travel tales pop up.

In about the last 6 months I became more devoted to my blog. It’s a hobby that I’m passionate about and so I began trying to learn as much as I could about this form of writing. I read blogs about anything and everything, searching for elusive pointers to help my craft develop. I’ve asked questions, taken on advice in my quest. Learning is for a lifetime and there is no end in my opinion. I grew up with my parents always reciting the saying

I even use this quote in my classroom to encourage the children to always strive for a little bit more. And, it applies to my blog too!

Thank you to those who’ follow’ (not as in a stalker way haha) me, ‘like’ (well at least click to imply they do) my posts, visit to read, leave comments or allow me to pick their brains for knowledge. Without your interaction the blog would become a monologue and I crave conversation and it’s these interactions that bring the blog further to life and let me expand my mind with the thoughts of others.

Thank you to those that create link ups for me to put my content out there.

Thank you too, to blog writers. No matter what time of day or day of the week I can always find something to read and enjoy.

As with any new skill you need to set yourself goals. For my blog the goals are:-

1. To reach 200 posts no later than in 120 days’ time which is Friday, 7 March 2014.

2. At least double my followers (a work hard target for me).

try cool

Author: Travelling Macs

A mum to 2 grown up children who always make me proud, a wife and a full time school teacher. I love eating great food but am not motivated to cook. Love traveling around this great country in which I live. Often found traveling with my husband Brian. I write for pleasure and if it's read (and enjoyed) by others then that's a bonus! 2014 saw me begin the 'new' me. Working hard at leaving the fear of 'what if' behind and replacing it with YOLO adventures. :)

  4. Congrats – good for you on the 100. Also, I have to ask, as nobody does, what state were the sheets in when Sleeping Beauty woke up? It would be disgusting. No prince would kiss her. Or I’d be very wary of the fetishes of the Prince that did.

    • Ha ha the are the sort of thoughts I have too!! Ha ha. I wasn’t so worried about the sheets as much as her ‘morning breath’ 😉 and yet he kissed her …ewwwww . Thanks for the congrats on 100 and stopping by 🙂
