After all the long term planning starting way back in February, I can’t believe we are now just 2 weeks from departure!!! Despite all my organisation there are still a few things to do, buy, find lol. Thanks to my trusty ipad I have a list to which I add as I remember things (seems its continually growing ) . Normally I go by the adage “Oh well if we forget it, we can get it when we arrive.. its not like we are in the outback or anything. ” However, this time that’s not going to work :). Still have to play with the camera too to get that under control.
While all this is happening we are also painting the house in preparation for the new floor boards to go down. How lucky am I that on my first day of LSL I will be able to get up early for this to happen (was going to say get up early for the floor man but that didn’t sound right hahaha).
Today we (and this time it wasn’t ‘we’ as in Brian doing while I watch or hide under the guise of “Got school work to plan , sorry”.) No! I started by cleaning walls with sugar soap. The label said gloves were essential . We only had latex ones and I wasn’t sure I should risk them as I’ve heard they can cause reactions.. and you know me and my 2% club membership **. I had Ally wrap plastic grocery bags around my hands and set off cleaning the walls. After two dips of the sponge into the bucket my hands were now swimming in the sugar soap mixture. I decided to ditch them and google this substance to see how bad it was. Seems it a fairly harmless product so I decided to throw caution to the wind and wipe the walls with my bare hands…well not bare hands as such, but a sponge 🙂
Then it was up on a tall ladder ( or some might call it a step ladder with just two steps) standing on the first step I used a little roller to paint the cornices. Half way around I was glad for new design houses having low ceilings and I was, for the second time in my life(the other time was when I broke my foot and had crutches), pleased my house isn’t bigger – something I usually complain about .
This is our colour scheme.
Time to read / watch some television and eat some dips and corn chips then an early night so we can start bright and early in the morning ( shhhh haven’t mentioned that bit about the start time tomorrow to Brian yet.)
Love Kerry-Anne xxx
PS ** 2% er club is that small group of people that seem to always end up with those odd things happening to them (not always negative either lol)
